MBABANE – The case of well-known Manzini businessman Mfanukhona ‘Kakona’ Dlamini has taken yet another twist.

A South African man, who is currently incarcerated in Namibia, has come out to claim that he worked jointly with Dlamini in allegedly stealing the cars from different provinces in the Republic of South Africa.

James Maluleka disclosed this in a statement he recorded on January 6, 2017 at Ketima Mulilo Police Regional Headquarters in Namibia.
The Crown now wants to use his statement as part of its evidence against Dlamini.
Maluleka of Johannesburg is currently kept  in Ketima Mulilo Police Station for being found in possession of a Mercedes Benz CL500, which is stolen vehicle.

In his statement, Maluleka said he recalled that in 2009 while in South Africa he met one Mxolisi Casapane whom he was once arrested with in Botswana for possession of a stolen vehicle.
He alleged that when they met he (Casapane) said there was one Joe in Swaziland who wanted him to assist with a car from Johannesburg to Swaziland. Maluleka claimed that Joe was the person whom he later learnt was Mfanukhona ‘Kakona’ Dlamini from Ngwane Park, Manzini.
According to Maluleka, because the vehicle had to be taken through an insurance broker, the deal ended in Cape Town when he (Maluleka) took a Nissan Club Cab to Swaziland.

“The car would then be reported to be stolen after a few days. Since then I have been involved with ‘Kakona’ in dealing in stolen vehicles. Most of the vehicles were stolen in Durban North, Pine Town, Nelspruit, White River and Johannesburg,” alleged Maluleka.
