FINALLY, TRAVEL DOCUMENT MESS SORTED
MBABANE – As the dates to the much anticipated Easter Holidays draw closer, the nation can heave a sigh of relief as the stress of obtaining travel documents is over.
This follows that the documents are now available after having arrived in the country on Monday.
This was confirmed by the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Anthony Masilela.
“Yes we can inform the nation that travel documents are now available.
“As we speak, they are ready to be collected by the applicants,” Masilela said and referred further comments to the acting Chief Immigration Officer, Makhosi Simelane, as he said he was currently away on other commitments.
Simelane said his office was busy with the process of producing those that had already been enrolled and that they would be done by Friday.
“As you may be aware, we had close to 5 000 that were enrolled so we are finalising their production just to clear everything and start on a clean slate.
“We want to clear the old ones first because we do not want to create a mix-up,” said Simelane.
With history known to have a tendency of repeating itself, Masilela was asked if the stock that arrived was enough to last the country for at least until the whole year and he responded to the affirmative.
“Even though I cannot give a time frame but we are quite adamant that we have enough.
“Also, I must point out that we have already ordered the next stock which I believe will be enough to last the whole year,” he said.
