PARLIAMENT STAFFER DENIES SEXUAL ACTS WITH SPEAKER
MBABANE – The Parliament assistant accountant who is alleged to have had a sexual relationship with the Speaker of the House of Assembly Themba Msibi has denied any involvement with him.
As a result of this accusation, Bongiwe Madonsela is suing the Swazi Observer for E500 000 after it published a story under the headline, ‘Meet the Kai Kai woman who stole Themba Msibi’s heart’.
The newspaper published the articled after a report of a Select committee (popularly known as Scuba divers), which was investigating the Speaker on alleged acts of misconduct, was leaked.
The report was leaked before it was tabled in the House of Assembly and is to date being kept at the Lobamba Police Station. In her particulars of claim, Madonsela also denied that she was found in a compromising situation with Msibi.
She also dismissed the allegations that she confessed before a Parliament Select committee that she was the woman who was found with Speaker Msibi at Kai Kai.
“In the article, I was portrayed as a woman who gets involved with married men, especially the Honourable Speaker of the House of Assembly Themba Msibi, as the article stresses that the plaintiff (Madonsela) was found in a compromising situation with the honourable speaker, which is not true,” read part of the assistant accountant’s particulars of claim.
She further mentioned that the article purported to inform the public that she confessed before a select committee that she was the woman who was found in a compromising situation with the Speaker.
According to the assistant accountant, the article also suggested that she was not employed on merit but through the facilitation of Msibi, as she was the woman who allegedly stole his heart.
