MANZINI – The request for a post-mortem report by Almor Oliveira’s alleged kidnapping suspects has been labelled disrespectful to the Swazi nation by the police.

Main suspect, Qing Ming He had recently asked that the Crown provide his legal team with a post-mortem report proving the kidnapped businessman was indeed dead after he was slapped with a count of murder.

The police wondered whether Ming He was denying the occurrence of the kidnapping by asking the crown to further inform the court who the complainant was, and if that was so, why was he looking for the complainant in the first place and how would this assist in the matter?

In an emotional statement, the police submitted that Ming He’s request was shameful and disrespectful and was also making a mockery of the painful situation surrounding Oliveira’s disappearance. The police said Ming He should point out where the body was in order to enable the crown to provide such a document.

“In fact, it is unethical on the part of the suspect’s legal team because even if this was in accordance with their instruction, they should have advised him about this since he is not Swazi. He may not appreciate some issues which may be insulting to Swazi people,” submitted the police.

The police advised that the request should be strongly condemned by the court because the suspect’s legal team knew very well that the body of the victim had not been found to conduct or examine it.
