MAN KILLS MUM, SAYS SHE WAS PIMPSTRESS

MBABANE – She brought him to life and he allegedly sent her to the grave in cold blood.

This is the sad story of a woman of Mvundlane in the Lubombo Region who was allegedly hacked by her son to death with a bush knife, accusing her of promoting prostitution among young girls.

Phumlane Frederic Chibi (49) is alleged to have hacked Martha Simphiwe Chibi below her right ear and hand because, according to him, the Bible frowns upon people who encourage prostitution.

Chibi allegedly informed Siteki police officers that the killing of people who support and promote prostitution was encouraged by the Holy Bible. On the day the deceased was allegedly brutally murdered, she and Phumlane were from attending a church service on Ascension Day at the Lukhula Branch of Assemblies of God, which had recently been opened. 

The 80-year-old woman retired to bed upon reaching home after the church service and asked to be left alone while she rested little did she know that her son had other ideas. Phumlane is alleged to have satisfied himself that she had indeed fallen asleep and went to fetch a bush knife. He allegedly attacked her in her sleep. 

After the gruesome deed, Phumlane went straight to the police station at Siteki and handed himself in. He had in his possession the bush knife he used to hack the old woman and a Bible.

 At the police station, Phumlane found Constable Nakiwe Mabuza who was in the company of Sergeant Nkonyane. Phumlane was known to carry a Bible around and even the day he handed himself in was no exception.
