MANZINI – A top lawyer has been reported to the police for allegedly pulling a gun on the late businessman Thulani Mehlwenkhomo Dlamini’s next of kin in an estate battle.

The incident allegedly took place on Friday, near the Manzini Post Office.
A source close to the matter said there was a meeting between the Master of the High Court, the family of the late businessman, who died in 2010, and the lawyer, who is the executor of the estate.

He said the family members were told about the purpose of the meeting but for unknown reasons, the lawyer was called as if the meeting would be between him and the Master of the High Court.
The source said the lawyer was taken aback when he was called to the office of the Master of the High Court and found it filled with some family members of the deceased businessman.

He is said to have expressed his shock to the Master of the High Court and said he was not prepared for a family meeting, as the invitation he got gave him the idea that he would be meeting with the office of the Master of the High Court.

The source said the lawyer said he was ready to have a private meeting with the Master of the High Court but he was told the agenda of the day was the estate file with the family members of the deceased. “The lawyer said if that was the case, he would ask to be excused because he was not prepared for such a meeting and he stepped out of the office,” the source said.
