LOBAMBA – Students of the Swaziland Christian University (SCU) who had hopes that the institution would reopen soon should stop nursing them.

This is because the Minister of Education and Training, Phineas Magagula, has submitted that a final report by the task team would only be delivered on October 30, 2017.
This date, however, irked Members of Parliament (MPs) who said the minister clearly was not serious, particularly because legislators had given him five days to settle the issue.

In yesterdays Order Paper, first on the agenda was the tabling of a report by Magagula, where progress on the suspension of operations of SCU was to be released.

However, the minister shot himself in the foot when he made a preamble telling the House of Assembly that a submission of an interim report inclusive of inception report and provisional rescue plan would be presented on October 10, 2017.
He further told the MPs that the final one would be made at the end of October, which was what left the MPs hot under the collar.
First on his feet was the initial mover of the motion, Mbabane West MP Johane Shongwe.
