MUM KILLS HERSELF AFTER HEAVILY BEATING DAUGHTER

MBABANE – A soldier watched his wife die right before his eyes after she had ingested the deadly weevil tablets, following severe punishment she had meted out on her teenage daughter.

The young girl had apparently arrived home with a cellphone that her parents did not know where she had obtained it from, something that angered her mother to then beat her to the point that she had to be taken to hospital.
Ncamsile Zwane nee Mbuyisa, was married to a member of the Umbutfo Swaziland Defense Force (USDF) and it is suspected that she ended her life with eight weevil tablets while at her home in Bhunya.
Information gathered was that the husband was a few kilometres away when Ncamisile ingested the deadly tablets.
A close relative stated that the matter started last Monday afternoon when Ncamisile discovered that her firstborn daughter, estimated to be in her early teens and is in secondary school, was in possession of a cellphone which she had not bought for her.

After finding the cellphone, she asked her daughter where she got it. The minor is said to have explained to her mother that she had been saving her pocket money which she used to buy the mobile phone.
However, Ncamisile was not quite convinced and went ahead to punish her with a stick. She is said to have beaten her several times on the hand until it was numb. It was suggested that the pupil be taken to hospital but the problem, when discussing it with family, was that they would not attend to the teenage girl without a police report. 
This seemed to have scared Ncamsile.

Her soldier husband was then called and he came home the same Monday night and the matter was addressed at family level.
Everything seemed normal, with all family members seemingly happy with whatever decision that was taken. On Tuesday, Ncamsile is said to have woken up and went to the clinic but showed no signs of being unhappy.
She then came home from the clinic and started burning important documents in the house, including the children’s birth certificates without explaining what was wrong.
Thereafter, she is said to have travelled to Manzini where she purchased the deadly tablets. While on her way home from Manzini, she is said to have called her husband and informed him of her intentions to ingest the weevil tablets and end her life.

This shocked her husband, who begged her not to kill herself. He is said to have repeatedly asked her where she was so that he could come there straight away.
According to the relative, she did not come out clearly on her whereabouts until she got home where she once again called her husband and informed him that she would give the children the tablets before taking them herself.
At this time, the husband was already on his way home and he told her that he was close by and pleaded with her to remain calm until he arrived.
“We suspect that after ending the conversation with her husband, she then took the tablets and ingested them. When her husband arrived, she was still writhing in pain. Attempts were made to try and save her life as she was given milk and cooking oil to drink so she could vomit the tablets she had taken but it did not help.
