MAN CONFESSES TO KILLING GIRLFRIEND OVER CONDOMS

NHLANGANO – A man has confessed to killing his girlfriend after condoms fell out of her pockets.

The shocking revelation was made by Mduduzi Nhleko (22), the man who allegedly battered his partner with a wooden stick resulting in her death last Wednesday. Nhleko, who was apprehended by Big Bend police on Monday while at his baby mama’s house, admitted to hitting his lover Gcinile Dlamini with the piece of timber during interrogation, following his arrest. He told investigating officers that he struck his girlfriend repeatedly all over the body until she complained of severe pain, and begged for her life. He was later to relay the same information to a judicial officer, to whom he made a confession yesterday afternoon. It was gathered that the man hit the woman so hard that the timber broke into several pieces that were found scattered all over the floor inside his rented flat.

The 22-year-old airtime vendor recounted that he had invited his girlfriend to sleep over last Wednesday, and the woman had accepted the invitation without any qualms. He said on that day, as it was usually the case, his girlfriend knocked off from work at 7pm and headed for her homestead, which is situated about two kilometres away. The woman was employed as a shop assistant at one of the businesses at the shopping complex at Maseyisini, which is in the same compound as the man’s rented flat. The man disclosed that the woman agreed to come to his place after she was done with a few family chores. He said she indeed honoured her promise, and the pair got all lovey dovey after the woman had arrived in the man’s flat. However, trouble set in after the man spotted some condoms under the bed.

Nhleko mentioned that his partner was already in bed waiting for him to join her when he came across the shiny packets underneath the bed. Upon noticing these were condoms, the man angrily asked the woman what she was doing with condoms because they had never used them at any occasion. The woman failed to give an immediate answer. Detectives heard that the man picked up a wooden stick from underneath the bed, and started hitting his lover right away.
Nhleko struck Gcinile Dlamini several times all over the body until the woman begged him to stop, promising to give an explanation on how the condoms got into her pockets. However, instead of making her clarification, the woman simply broke down and cried. She was complaining of severe pain, according to her assailant.
