NSINGIZINI FOLK EXPECT PM’S WIFE TO BRING DEVELOPMENT
HLUTHI – The community of Nsingizini expects the prime minister’s fiancée Gugu Primrose Simelane to bring development in the area.
They expressed that they were ecstatic that the Prime Minister Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini, had chosen a wife in the Shiselweni region. This was during the second day of the lobola celebrations at Simelane’s parental homestead. “As you know that there is a lot of poverty, hunger and unemployment here, once you are in Mbabane, please do not forget about the people of Nsingizini,” said a community representative. The community spokesperson, who was sent by Chief Gasa WaNgwane to deliver a message to the Dlamini family, advised Simelane that although she would now be the mother of the entire country she should not forget her roots. The umphakatsi said they were happy that the PM was a person who was close to Their Majesties and therefore, development would be brought to the area soon. “You are expected to be like Joseph in the Bible, who did not forget his family while in Egypt,” said the chief’s representative.
He further advised that when 2022 comes Dlamini and Simelane should ensure that they still had love and peace between them.
He said their community believed in love and expressed their encouragement to other men in the country to come and get future wives from Nsingizini. They said they expected Simelane to inform the PM about challenges they had in the area and in turn the groom to take immediate action. After the advise was given out Dlamini was then presented with a white goat. “The white goat signifies that we have given you Gugu, who is pure and without any blemishes (libala),” he said. He said the PM should wear the goat’s skin around his wrist, which would be a reminder that Gugu was handed over to him in purest form. The goat was then presented to the PM inside the marquee where the church service and luncheon took place. The people of the area received the message with great applause and also said the PM should bring development to the area. Meanwhile, Gladys Dlamini, who spoke on behalf of the Bhekinkosi Church of the Nazarene, said they knew the teachings of the Evangelical Church and therefore, were not concerned about removing any blackjacks (bochuchuza), in the sense that she had a good reputation. Gladys said the couple should at all times ensure that God was their foundation.
“Between the two of you, please keep your faith in God and in that case there would be permanent joy,” she said. She said all homes had challenges, but if God was part of their daily programme, then they had nothing to fear. Meanwhile, a pastor from the Evangelical church said Simelane had been a well behaved child in the church and led by example. “Abengali jivazi lisontfo,” which meant that she did not embarrass the church. The speaker said they were surprised to even hear that she had met someone. “The Evangelical Church is very happy to have the PM as the groom, although we are also scared because of his stature, he has our blessing,” he said.
