FORM V RESULTS LEAKED

MBABANE – Are members of the public becoming irresponsible with the use of social media and their smart phones?

This is because the latest piece of information to be leaked on social media particularly on WhatsApp is a list of the top 50 performers in the 2017 Form V results.

The official results are expected to be released this morning by the Examinations Council of Swaziland (ECoS) and the Ministry of Education and Training which has called a press conference in this regard.

The leaked list comes barely a week after CCTV footage of the shooting of businessman Victor Gamedze was circulated on WhatsApp and social networking site Facebook just a day after he was shot.

In the case of the leaked top performers under the Swaziland General Certificate in Secondary Education (SGCSE) examination, a picture of the results was taken and then circulated.

The picture depicts that the best performing pupils were from Mkhuzweni High School, Lobamba National High School, Edwaleni High School and Swazi National High School.

The list is accompanied by the names of the pupils who, however, cannot be named as these have not been validated by the ECoS.
Other schools that featured prominently include KaBoyce High School where four pupils’ names were mentioned including their Best Alpha Grades of A*.

The list states that there were about 250 candidates including private ones and it shows the best six subjects which the pupils sat for and used to calculate the aggregate.

Other candidates who are reflected on the circulating list that has at least 35 names include pupils from St Theresa’s High School, Salesian High School and St Francis High School.
