MBABANE – Anyone could have been deceived at the sight of four unsuspicious-looking young men buying breakfast at a supermarket in Ezulwini.

Their neatness, though they are casually clad, could pass them for the normal shoppers they are not.
These people are suspected killers and they were on a mission to allegedly assassinate one of the country’s shrewd, respected and eminent businessman and football administrator – Victor Gamedze.
The time is around 8:56am on a Saturday morning of January 13, 2018, and a food server at the supermarket’s deli section is attending to the young would-be assassins, obviously oblivious of who they are.
Their movements are being captured by the supermarket’s closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras and they appear ignorant of this fact, as they go about their business of getting breakfast.

The Times SUNDAY has been able to see the footage of these young men inside the shop and it is believed this is part of the evidence the police have against the killers.
In the footage, it is clear that one of these young men is a well-known Mbabane socialite, whose homestead was raided by the police on Monday afternoon for his alleged role in Gamedze’s brutal killing.
The faces of the other three men are not familiar and it is suspected that they may be from outside Swaziland, most probably South Africa.
It is the Mbabane socialite who is leading his accomplices into deciding what they should buy for breakfast and he is the first one to be served.

Having ordered first, the socialite, who has since reportedly fled the country, is served food in a plastic dish that the store deli attendant neatly covers with a foil plastic.
Dressed in a black T-shirt and black trousers, the socialite takes the dish and then points his friends to the potato fries on offer.

At this moment, he is in the company of two other young men, one of whom is suspected to be the one who pulled the trigger and fired two gunshots that fatally wounded Gamedze.
It is deduced from the footage that this is the gunman because of his walk and body size, as well as the trousers and shoes which are similar to the ones worn by the person who shot Gamedze.
The suspected shooter, who has a skinny body and a small bold patch (licwatsa) on the top of his head, is wearing a white T-shirt inscribed with the words ‘Havana’ on the front and a pair of black trousers, probably jeans.
The other, with a well-built body almost similar to that of the Mbabane socialite, is wearing a light purple T-shirt, an army looking trousers and has a clean-shaven head.

The Mbabane socialite seems to be suggesting that they should order the potato fries, which they appear to adhere to. They are soon joined by the fourth suspect, who appears to be a coloured and is wearing a white golf shirt and a black cap.
The coloured-guy’s cap is similar to the one the gunman wore and covered his face with when he shot Gamedze.
This coloured-looking man heads for the counter but he is soon disturbed by his mobile phone which he then focuses on.
The other guy wearing a light purple golf shirt seems not interested in what the deli department has to offer and disappears from the screen to another department within the supermarket.
Soon, one of the packets of fries is served.
