MBABANE - The alleged Swazi inyanga (traditional healer) who was arrested in connection with the killing of two minors in South Africa, has appeared in court.

The suspect has been identified as Thokozani Msibi and appeared on Wednesday at the Witbank Magistrates Court.

According to a South African publication, TimesLIVE, Msibi was remanded in custody pending a bail application which is scheduled for Monday.
The two children whom he allegedly kidnapped and later murdered are Nkosikhona Ngwenya and Gabisile Shabani, and it has been alleged that the latter was kidnapped because of her albinism condition.

Msibi was arrested on Tuesday night and charged in connection with the kidnapping of the two children, who were allegedly taken from their home in Hlalakahle and were later found dead.
On Wednesday morning‚ police discovered two bodies in separate locations‚ believed to be those of the missing children.

It was reported that the subsequent discovery of the corpses came after the South African Police Service (SAPS) released an identikit of one of the suspects.
“He was remanded in custody pending a bail application which is scheduled for February 26, 2018. Thokozani Msibi was not asked to plead. The investigation regarding further suspects is underway,” Corporate Communications Officer of the Mpumalanga Province, Brigadier Leonard Hlathi was quoted saying in yesterday’s TimeLive.

When the arrest was made, it was stated that additional charges of murder could be added.
The minors had been reported missing on January 28 this year, after three armed gunmen broke into their home and forcibly removed them.
