BUHLENI – The sex work industry is fast becoming as dangerous as the drug trade – people are being killed.

In less than 60 days, a second man has been killed after he was hacked by another in a dispute that is alleged to have started over an alleged sex worker.
The attack is said to have happened at a popular bar around Buhleni. The hacked man did not die immediately but was rushed to the Mbabane Government Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

The incident happened last week and a suspect has already been arrested in connection to the incident.
The bar is the largest drinking spot around Buhleni as it attracts throngs of imbibers as well as vendors who sell their goods outside the bar.
Trouble is said to have started when the alleged killer (also the client) wanted to go with a woman whom he claimed to have paid for sexual pleasure for the night.
However, he is said to have been angry after noticing that the sex worker was with another person.

He is said to have complained and stated that the woman had to go with him since he had already given her some money as per their deal.
The woman is said to have been with her brother at the time who is also known to her alleged ‘client’.
An argument is then said to have ensued between the client and his rival during which the client demanded a cellphone which he had previously given to the alleged sex worker’s brother.

It was during this heated argument that a scuffle ensued which resulted in the attacker drawing a bush knife and hacking one of the men, who was with the woman, on the head.
The injured man who is said to be from Fontotje under Nkamanzi was then rushed to the nearest hospital but was later transferred to the Mbabane Government Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
