SWAZI MOBILE SHARES FOR 1 000 MORE
MBABANE – If you were left with only E100 airtime and 10 calls to qualify for the Swazi Mobile shares, your luck has just changed.
The mobile telephony company has announced that they will be giving shares to 1 000 people who had managed to load airtime worth E500 and received at least 20 unique calls by December 31.
The announcement was made by Swazi Mobile Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jeff Penberton at the company headquarters yesterday. Penberton said this meant a total of 15 000 people qualified for the shares reward programme. When the company was launched, it pledged to offer shares worth E60 million to the first 100 000 locals who would join it as subscribers with each share worth E600. For one to qualify for the shares, they had to be Swazi Nationals with a valid identification document (ID), be 16 years of age or above, buy and activate a Swazi Mobile number before December 31, 2017, top up with E600 airtime and receive inbound calls to the activated number from 30 valid unique numbers.
Second chance
MBABANE – Swazi Mobile CEO Jeff Penberton said they had received pleas from people who had almost qualified for the shares, and hence they decided to give them another chance. “The Board of Directors agreed that the company should lower the top-up amount to E500 and at least 20 unique calls,” he said. He said at the end of December 2017, 14 000 people had qualified for the shares, and they had submitted their Know-Your-Customer (KYC) documents. He said they were currently waiting for the Swaziland Stock Brokers so that these could receive their share certificates. He said the 1 000 people would be contacted by the company today on how they could submit the KYC documents. He said all other details would be communicated to the customers when they were contacted.
