MANZINI – A flamboyant pastor based in Manzini allegedly wants to marry a second wife despite the fact that his civil marriage of 30 years still subsists.
An investigation by the Times SUNDAY has revealed that he has indicated an interest to marry his wife’s former employee.

Insiders said Thembeka (not her real name) worked at a hairdressing salon owned by his wife.
She has, however, quit her hairdressing job amid alleged verbal expletives between her and the pastor’s wife.  She is around 30 years of age while the pastor’s wife is in her late 50s. The embattled church founder and leader married his wife in community of property, inside sources said.

CASE OF BIGAMY

A legal expert said an extra-marital affair constituted a clear cut case of bigamy.
Bigamy is a criminal offence in Eswatini that can also be addressed in a civil court, the legal expert said.
Bigamy is the act of going through a marriage ceremony while already married to another person.

The issue is so serious that it is now being handled by the Swaziland Conference of Churches, sources revealed. Asked if it was true that the conference was handling the matter, Bishop Steven Masilela, the President, wondered when and how the sensitive issue had reached this newspaper.

He said it was wrong for such confidential matters to be discussed in public; blaming the newspaper’s sources for betraying their trust.
However, the president said the case was reported to the organisation and was being handled with delicacy and caution. Asked who reported the matter to the Board of the Conference, he said the pastor initiated the advisory or conciliatory process.

This newspaper visited Archbishop Zablon Khanyile of the Sincetse Church in Zion in Matsapha where Thembeka fellowshipped.
He wondered where this newspaper got the information.
He then said it was vitally important that the embattled flamboyant pastor got fervent prayers to make him strong.

He said the aggrieved married woman (flamboyant pastor’s wife) said to him: “Bishop Khanyile ngicela ungibambele umntfwana wakho, songitsatsele indvodza (Bishop Khanyile could you please warn or advise your church member against dating my husband – she has taken away my husband).”
Archbishop Khanyile said the pastor telephoned him on Friday to apologise on behalf of Thembeka for missing a church service.

“I did not understand why he had to apologise on behalf of Thembeka,” said the archbishop.
Meanwhile, sources said Thembeka has started a hawker business with capital she allegedly obtained from her married ‘boyfriend’ – the pastor.

Allegations flying back and forth

Allegations are flying back and forth that she has stolen the pastor’s heart to an extent that she was staying in a two-bedroom flat rented by the man of God.
Seeing that the love affair was gradually becoming a nuisance to the pastor’s wife and disturbingly noticeable to neighbours, the first lady of the church (aggrieved woman) allegedly called Archbishop Khanyile to her (wife) marital home to discuss the alleged adulterous affair.
He reportedly honoured the meeting, which took place at the alleged cheating preacher’s home.
