E1.4M GATE COLLECTIONS IN 10 WEEKS

MBABANE – The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) has collected over E1 million in gate takings.


Speaking during a press briefing, the PLE CEO, Simanga Nhleko, revealed that according to their reports, E1 402 550 has been collected since the start of the league.


Also present during the event which was held at Sigwaca House was the PLE’s accountant Nhlanhla Dlamini.
“As alluded to in our previous meeting yesterday (Tuesday), where we had invited the Nomakunini Technologies (the company responsible for gate collections), today we are here to present our reports on gate collections since the commencement of the league from September 14. We are happy to present that we have collected E1 402 550 for the past 10-weeks,” Nhleko disclosed.


The CEO further said that from the total amount collected, the teams shared over E800 000, with the PLE getting a levy of E280 510. “A huge percentage goes to the teams, however some of the monies are channelled to stadium levy, security, Nomakunini Commission, bank transfers,” he said.


According to the gate collections team distribution spreadsheets shared by the PLE, Manzini Wanderers were topping the list with the highest gate collections of E176 309 80, while Swallows were second on E145 810 50, with Mbabane Highlanders on third with E103 535 75. Noteworthy is that Green Mamba are fourth on E95 286 50 and completing the top five brackets are Vovovo on E68 977 55.


The CEO further said they would also present combined reports of the first round.
“When the first round finishes, we will present the gate collections report, we will also do the same on Eswatinibank and Ingwenyama Cup. At the end of the season we will also present a full report on the gate-takings,” he said.
