DEAD MAN FOUND AT INYATSI CONSTRUCTION SITE
MAFUTSENI – Inyatsi Construction workers and members of the public were startled to stumble on an already decomposed body of a man suspected to have been murdered and dumped in one of the water-filled sites of the company.
The construction site is along the MR3 Public Road opposite the Mafutseni Filling Station, where construction of a highway by Inyatsi Construction is currently underway. Members of the public and vendors near the road said although the body of the man, Sakhile Philangezwi Nhleko, was already decomposed due to the high temperatures, it was suspected that he was murdered as he was last seen over the weekend in the company of friends. His body was found floating in a pond within the construction site facing down. Sakhile still had his cellphone and house keys in his pockets.
“He was a regular at the popular bar, especially during weekends. The last time I saw him was on Friday evening, where he was in the company of friends. They were all drinking and they had an argument. I left the place as I realised that the confrontation could turn nasty. “I never saw him until this morning (yesterday) when I heard that the police were retrieving the body of a man suspected to have been killed. When I went there, I identified him by his clothing. Despite that he did not have any stab wounds, he could have been strangulated and later thrown in the water. There is no way he could have drowned as the pond is not deep,” a man who is also a regular at the bar said yesterday. Police were called to the scene and managed to get hold of the man’s father, Lucky Nhleko, who is a court messenger at Lobamba National Court.
Identify
Lucky was taken to Dups Funeral Parlour yesterday morning where he was able to positively identify his son. Lucky, who was found at his homestead situated not far from the police station, confirmed that the man found dead at the construction site was indeed his son and he also had suspicions that he had been murdered before being thrown inside the site filled with muddy water. Nhleko said he last saw his son a week ago when he waited for him to return to the house.
