KRUGER COINS DEAL COSTS MAN E107 000
MBABANE – A businessman has narrated in court how a traditional healer and his helper (nyankhwabi) allegedly enticed him into believing their stunts in a Kruger coins deal.
Sicelo Dlamini of Nshakabili in Ezulwini, alleged that he lost E107 000 in cash to the traditional healer, as a result of stunts they used on him.
Dlamini informed the court that he initially had a dream where he was shown the Kruger coins around Ezulwini.
He told the court that there was a point where he was shown the coins underground in a forest at Nshakabili, in the dream.
“I went around looking for a traditional healer who specialised in Kruger coins until I met Sithole from Mozambique. Sithole informed me about a Mozambican traditional healer who specialised in Kruger coins. We went to Mozambique but unfortunately we found the man was admitted to a hospital. He promised to come and help me, however, he died a week later,” alleged Dlamini.
He said as time went on, Sithole gave him a liSwati traditional healer, one Lucky Kunene of Mpaka, whom he said also specialised in Kruger coins.
discuss
The businessman told the court that when he called Kunene, the traditional healer invited him to Mpaka to discuss his story.
Upon arrival at Kunene’s homestead, the businessman claimed that the traditional healer pledged to assist him in retrieving the coins.
“Kunene requested to see the place so that he could perform some rituals (kuchela) before we could retrieve the money. He requested E200 for fuel. He came to my place and I led him to the forest where I was shown the coins in the dream,” Dlamini alleged.
He alleged that Kunene instructed him to bring coins of not less than E300 in value, whisky and roasted chickens each time they went to the forest.
rituals
He claimed that a day after Kunene performed the rituals; they went to the forest in the evening and upon their arrival there, Kunene told him not to be shocked as he was going to hear a strange voice from ghosts (tipoko) who were in charge of the money.
Dlamini informed the court that Kunene allegedly warned him against going closer to the spot where the voice was coming from as he was likely to be affected by the spirits (kuhabula).
“The voice spoke to me in English and Kunene asked me to interpret for him as he did not understand,” Dlamini narrated.
He alleged that as they began to dig, the voice asked who was tampering with their treasure.
The unsuspecting businessman informed the court that the voice asked him if he was interest in entering into negotiations concerning the money as they had guarded it for a very long time. He said he responded to the affirmative because he desired to have the coins.
relocate
“The voice requested that I hand over E50 000 for transport so that they could relocate to their country of origin, Saudi Arabia. However, I negotiated for a lesser fee because I did not have E50 000. They requested for at least E7 800 so that they can negotiate with an unseen ‘cabinet’ which was responsible for the money,” he alleged.
Dlamini told the court that the voice instructed him to place the money under a small tree in the forest and expect feedback from the ‘cabinet’ the following week.
He claimed that he left the E7 800 in the forest. The following week, Dlamini told the court that he went to the forest in the company of Kunene without the digging tools.
Upon their arrival at the forest, the businessman informed the court that the voice informed him that the ‘cabinet’ had requested for an extra E7 000. He narrated that he requested for some time as he did not have the money at the moment.
Tree
“I got the E7 000 within three days and I placed it under the same tree. The voice told me to come after a week to get my treasure, however, I did not find any cent after the stipulated time,” he alleged.
Dlamini claimed that the voice requested that he gave them E5 000 for a farewell party as they were about to hand over the money and relocate to their country.
