MUM(58), SON ATTACK TEACHER
NTJANINI – An enraged mother of an ‘unruly’ pupil stormed Ntjanini High School alongside one of his elder sons and attacked a teacher.
Witnesses said the 58-year-old woman, together with her son, who is employed as a security guard around Ntjanini, allegedly grabbed the male teacher by his waist belt and further hit him at the back, in full view of other pupils.
Both suspects will not be named in order to protect the identity of the pupil.
It is understood that the pair got angry after the woman’s younger son was expelled from the school, apparently because he had allegedly crossed boundaries by showing disrespect to a teacher when instructed to clean up around the institution’s premises. Again when another teacher tried to intervene, the pupil reportedly refused punishment, leading to his eventual expulsion.
Information gathered was that both the mother and the pupil’s sibling viewed this as mistreatment against the child and decided to go to the school to enquire about the incident.
controversy
However, all hell broke loose when the duo saw the teacher at the centre of the controversy as they entered the school premises. A witness said a confrontation erupted when the two demanded to talk to the teacher, who was coming from the school prayer assembly point. According to the witness, the encounter turned violent when the pair started to lash out at the teacher as he tried to move away.
Reports reaching this publication were to the effect that the unfortunate teacher was further manhandled by the duo before being hit on his back.
“It was an embarrassing situation for the teacher as he was held by his waist belt and further struck at the back,” narrated the witness. All the drama reportedly unfolded in full view of other teachers and pupils.
