ESWATINI, MOZ STRIKE 17 MAJOR DEALS
MATSAPHA - The inaugural State visit by Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi to the Kingdom of Eswatini has seen the two countries reaching common understanding on 17 key issues.
The issues are contained in a joint communiqué, which was signed by His Majesty King Mswati III and President Nyusi during his three-day visit to the country.
The communiqué was revealed by Thuli Dladla, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, together with Mozambique Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Ernesto Max Elias Tonela.
Jetted
This was after the Mozambican president had jetted out of the country yesterday morning.
Following the fact that Eswatini is host to the highest number of Mozambicans, the two heads of State agreed that people of Mozambique, who lived in the country, should be registered so that their stay in the Kingdom could be legal. On that note, they expressed gratification at the progress made in the effort to register and legalise the stay of Mozambican nationals living in Eswatini.
They also acknowledged the solemnity of their membership, trade and investment commitments and obligations in the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the SADC-EU (European Union) Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) and World Trade Organisation (WTO).
Additionally, the two heads of State agreed that the two countries were engaged in negotiating the Tripartite Free Trade Area encompassing SADC, East African Community (EAC) and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).
