MQOLO DEPUTY FOUND DEAD IN HOUSE
MBABANE - The head teacher of Mqolo Primary School had a short conversation with his deputy last Friday; little did he know that he would never talk to her again.
The Deputy Head teacher, Mantfombi Girl Dlamini, was found dead in her house at the teacher’s quarters where she lived alone yesterday morning.
This was exactly four days after he had the conversation with the Head teacher, Archie Thwala, whom she worked closely with.
The discovery was made after the school administration tried in vain to locate Dlamini, who did not report to work on Monday.
Thwala said he was curious when Dlamini was not seen at school on Monday because she was committed to her work.
As a result, Thwala said he called her two cellphone numbers.
Rang unanswered
However, he said one of the cellphones rang unanswered while the other was not available on the network.
“I tried to ask other teachers but nobody knew Mantfombi’s whereabouts, stating that they last saw her within the premises last Friday. I was hoping that she would come later as she was not used to missing work without reporting,” said Thwala.
Later on the day, Thwala said he decided to go to Dlamini’s parental homestead at Mvutshini only to find that the family was not aware about her whereabouts.
He said the family called their relative but she was nowhere to be found.
He said after the meeting with Mantfombi’s family, they decided to report her missing to the police on Monday evening.
The head teacher stated that he informed the police that he last saw Mantfombi at around 5:30pm last Friday.
According to Thwala, Mantfombi had taken a day off work as she had to do a medical check-up at hospital.
