NKOYOYO – Residents were treated to an usual spectacle when two women beat their boyfriend to a pulp for double- crossing them.

The movie-like scenario unfolded in the early hours of Saturday at Nkoyoyo, near a drinking spot known as ka-Mdera, when Thembi and Bongiwe allegedly beat their boyfriend Mzamo for dating both of them at the same time.
The discovery was made by Thembi who later approached Bongiwe in a fact finding mission.

Bongiwe told Thembi that Mzamo had coerced her to separate with her boyfriend, and expressed how shocked she was to discover that he (Mzamo) was having an affair with someone else.
It was then that they both took the decision to allegedly attack their boyfriend. The two decided to go and look for their boyfriend, and they found him near the drinking spot where they gave their shots in fists and open hands, and kicks all over the body while shouting ‘usijwayela kabi’ (you’re taking us for a ride).

Beating

The boyfriend received a long and hard beating from the two women, especially on his face.
Members of the public who were watching, kept pulling away others who were attempting to separate the trio stating that it was a personal matter.

Motorists who were passing by next to the Mpolonjeni road slowed down to watch the man being beaten while asking what was happening.
The crowd, which seemed overwhelmed by the scenario, kept answering all the motorists’ questions.

Some were even questioning if the women were his wives.
One of them even provided one of the women with a stick to use to beat the ‘boyfriend’, which she used to strike him once and it was later taken from her.
“Mshayeni bafati bakhe,” shouted the crowd which did not even bother to separate the fight. The fight was eventually stopped by one man who took Mzamo and left with him.

As if Mzamo had not received enough of the beating, he escaped from the man who was trying to rescue him and went back to his girlfriends who were already following him. With blood coming out of his mouth, Mzamo seemed undeterred by the fact that he had been severely beaten and the women were still eager to assault him further.
He then stripped off his T-shirt while gesturing his arms like someone who still had the strength to continue with the fight. He later called his girlfriends to continue beating him, which they did not do.

Fight

He then put back his T-shirt and that marked the end of the fight.
In a rather short confrontation after the fight, Thembi told Bongiwe to stay away from her boyfriend because regardless of the fact that they had beaten him, he was still her boyfriend and that they were not going to be separated.
“Uyalibona lelibhuluko lengiligcokile leli, lakhe” loosely translated “You see these pants that I am wearing, they are his,” added Thembi while tapping the navy-blue track suit pants which had stripes on the side.
Their confrontation ended with Bongiwe walking away with tears on her face.

Mzamo told this reporter that he was not going to press charges as the two women were his girlfriends. “Bafati bami laba,” said Mzamo in vernacular.
He ended up with his friends who were advising him that should a similar incident occur in the future, he should just run away and leave the two of them to sort each other out.
