BISHOP LUKHELE’S E200 000 TO 5 ARTISTS
MBABANE – Archbishop Bheki Lukhele, who is the founder of the popular All Nations Christian Church in Zion, has splashed E200 000 on five gospel artists.
He gave out the money during a service on Sunday. This was also confirmed by the All Nations Church PRO, Zama Nkambule. “It is true, this happened during our church service after the archbishop had just finished delivering his sermon,” he said.
Near the end of his sermon in the afternoon, the prominent preacher joyfully asked gospel artists, who were present during the church service, to come to the podium and perform one song together before sharing the good news to them that he had decided to share ‘the little he had’ with them because they supported his church, especially during revival services.
Responded
Five artists responded to his request and marched to the stage. They were Zaga Dlamini, Sicelimphilo Zwane, Pastor Vusi Shiba of Shiba and the Travellers, Makhosemvelo and an upcoming female artist known as the Battalion.
After singing the song led by Zwane, Lukhele announced in front of the congregation that he would give each of the artists a sum of E30 000 for supporting the All Nations Christian Church in Zion through their music.
He said he understood that gospel group founders had a family to feed and a band to look after, therefore needed the money more. He also hoped that the money would help in paying their bands and also grow their musical careers.
“These artists have so many expenses, and before they are artists, they are family men back home so they need to provide. They need our support in order for them to be able to provide for their families. I encourage the church to support them as well,” he said.
He stressed that he saw it fit to share the money with them because he wanted to see them grow and also to show his appreciation to them for supporting his church.
Gifted
Moreover, Zaga was gifted with an extra E50 000 for his love and passion for the church. Lukhele spoke fondly of him as he expressed his gratitude towards him.
“Zaga is passionate about the church. He loves the church. He is always showing support.
“He is more like our ambassador because wherever he goes, he represents the church well and we thank him for that,” Lukhele added. This means Zaga walked away with a cool E80 000 while the other artists received E30 000.
Pastor Shiba was at a loss for words when called for an interview.
“I still do not know where to start in thanking him. I was surprised by his gesture as I did not expect it. I am truly grateful and may the Lord continue to bless him more. What he did will change our lives as artists and we are so grateful,” he said.
Zaga said he loved the church and was passionate about it.
He said what made him happy was realising that the church leader noted his efforts.
“This man of God has changed my life in so many ways. He has helped my music career grow. I am grateful for what he has done for me,” Zaga said.
