MBABANE – In an episode that could very well have been taken from a South African television reality show ‘Utatakho’, 45 years later, a civil servant wants to undergo a DNA test with his biological father.

Utatakho is a reality show that seeks to unite or reunite people with their biological fathers and it is aired on Channel 161, Mzansi Magic.
Conway Ntsika Dlamini (45) has since taken the man who raised him, paid his school fees and tuition, Zachariah Mfanzile Dlamini (85), to court.

Relationship

Conway and Zachariah maintained a father and son relationship for 45 years but comments that were allegedly made by his (Conway) siblings, that he was not one of their own, have resulted in him wanting to know his true identity.

Through his lawyer Mbhekwa Mthethwa, Conway has since taken his ‘father’ to court where he is seeking an order compelling him to avail himself at Lancet Laboratories for purposes of conducting a DNA tests.

Conway told the court that he wants to determine whether Zachariah was his biological father or not.
In his application, Conway submitted that he was born on May 13, 1974. He said he grew up and was raised by both parents at Esitjeni, which was a place he called home.

 Funny

“While I was growing up, I noticed how my siblings would make funny comments about me not being one of them. It was until I became older that my elder sister advised me not to construct a house within the family homestead at Esitjeni,” alleged Conway.
He claimed that his sister told him that he should look for his own place to build his home.

The applicant said he took the advice and established his own homestead at Mpolonjeni in Mbabane.  He alleged that his elder sister again congratulated him and stated that this was a good decision as he would have had problems if he stayed at Esitjeni.

The applicant (Conway) alleged that he had consulted a number of people who all informed him that the respondent (Zachariah) was not his biological father. “I have engaged my mother on the issue and she does not deny nor confirm my suspicion, instead she reported me to the respondent who was very angry at me for raising the issue of my paternity,” alleged the applicant.
