The tour commenced at Kellogg’s site in Matsapha where the portfolio committee members learned that the company wanted to start with the noodles making factory but they then expressed their interest to expand their investment to produce cornflakes. The portfolio committee members also became acquainted with the fact that the establishment of the factory would signify that many emaSwatini will be able to supply a lot of maize to Kellogg’s. Thereafter, the portfolio committee members were shown the Johnson factory site which is also located in Matsapha as well where they learnt that the company wants to create about 3 000 jobs and that the construction process would be completed by the end of this year. From Jonson factory, the delegation went to the Trade Hub where the projections were to the effect that by the end of December 31 this year, the entire structure would be ready for use. The structure will shelter vendors who ply their trade at the Manzini Satellite Bus Rank given the fact that their current site of business was already congested.
