MBABANE - While the number of Merit passes is what matters in the Junior Certificate (JC) and Grade VII examination results, it is a different story in Form V.
In Form V, a school’s performance is judged by the credit percentage which is determined by the number of grades between A* and C.

The more of these aforementioned grades a school obtains, the more candidates it will have who will enrol for tertiary education.
In the 2019 Form V results, over 10 schools struggled to attain a credit percentage of 20.

One of them is the Nhlangano Central Upgrading School which had five candidates but scored 0.00 in terms of credit percentage.
The school also scored the poorest overall pass rate as it stood at 46.66 per cent.

It was followed by Kugeza CLC Non-Formal School, which had seven candidates and scored a credit percentage of 2.94 and an overall percentage of 47.05.
Also reflected in the results is that some schools obtained a poor credit percentage but their overall pass rate was above 50. These include Qomintaba High School which obtained an overall pass rate of 79.52 but its credit percentage was 7.78.
