MBABANE – A love square involving three men and a woman has allegedly caused one man to resign from work.

*Tom said he was failing to cope with the fact that his wife, whom he married through Civil Rights, could be cheating with two men who were also married.

The men are her supervisors in the same government ministry where the wife works and a warder who works closely with a senior Correctional Services officer.

Before resigning from his workplace in Matsapha, Tom claimed that he confronted both men on different instances about the affairs they are said to be having with his wife *Mary.

This happened after he found messages that gave him an impression that his wife was in an intimate relationship with the two men.

This did not end there as the husband also approached the wife of the civil servant and apparently found that she also suspected that her husband was going out with Tom’s wife and she claimed to have confronted her husband about Mary’s picture, which she allegedly found in her husband’s office.

“I could no longer cope and I was failing to continue with my work, so I had to resign.”

Tom said it took him long to make the discovery and when he did, more evidence supporting his fears started coming through.

“At some point my wife mistakenly sent a recorded telephone conversation between her and one of the men’s wives to my family WhatsApp group, which was accessed by my parents and sisters.”

He said after trying to make his wife terminate the affairs he decided to approach the two men.

“They both denied and I did not tell them that I have collected evidence in the form of pictures, some of which they took with my wife and those of a distasteful nature, which I still have in my possession.”

Tom also shared pictures of the three subjects and messages between them, which he retrieved from his wife’s phone.

He said in a bid to recover from the situation he and his wife started undergoing counseling, which he said did not help.

“The two families also held meetings on the matter but it remained unresolved. This was taking its toll on me and I started losing concentration even at work, especially after my wife filed a restraining order against me and had me chucked out of the government house that was allocated to her.”

The civil servant man said he had a discussion with Tom after he confronted him about the said affair. “I told him that I was not going out with his wife.”

The man confirmed that he sent Mary a message while she was on maternity leave and said it was misinterpreted.

“Out of concern I asked her why she was still at home because she was spending more time with her husband as she was at risk of conceiving another baby.”

When asked if such concern was not too personal for a male and female colleague, he said he treated Mary as his workmate and nothing more.

On the issue of Mary’s picture placed in his office wall he said, “I had pinned that picture for fun as Mary was with another man in the picture. I had placed it there just to make fun of her.”

The civil servant said all he knew was that Mary was dating a warder.

“As far as I’m concerned we discussed and finalised this matter with Tom.”

The warder said Mary’s husband asked him about their relationship and he denied that they were having an affair. “I know her through work and I have never been intimate with her.”

Mary did not answer her phone when she was reached for comment.

She was also called from her workplace and she was reported to be away from work for a while.
