ONE DEATH, 32 NEW CASES

MBABANE – The country yesterday recorded a total number of 32 new cases of COVID-19 and one death. 

The reports were confirmed by Minister of Health, Lizzie Nkosi. This means that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases are 4 936 while deaths are 97.

The death is of an 85-year-old woman from the Hhohho Region. She reportedly died on Tuesday in one of the health facilities. She was a confirmed case of COVID-19, according to the minister. 

The new cases came from 208 results that were received yesterday. Manzini had 15 new cases followed by Hhohho with 13, while the Lubombo Region had four cases.  Also, 10 cases were asymptomatic, 17 presented with mild symptoms while four had moderate symptoms and one was severe.  The total number of female reported cases is 2 657 while males are 2 279.  The youngest reported case was one in the zero to nine age bracket, while the eldest was also one in the age group of 80 and above. 

There were 18 new recoveries that were recorded yesterday, bringing the tally to 4 077. This means that active cases are 762.
