3 MORE DEATHS, TOLL AT 101
MBABANE – The total number of COVID-19 related deaths is now 101 in the country following three deaths that were recorded yesterday.
The deaths were confirmed by the Minister of Health, Lizzie Nkosi, yesterday.
All three were in the age bracket of 60 to 69 years. Two were women from the Manzini Region while one was a male from the Hhohho Region. The first death was that of a 65-year-old woman from the Manzini Region. She is reported to have died on arrival at a health facility and her results came back positive for COVID-19. The second death was of a 61-year-old woman from the Manzini Region, who died while admitted to one of the health facilities and her results also came back positive for C
OVID-19. The last reported death was of a 68-year-old man from Hhohho Region. He died while admitted to a health facility after being confirmed positive for a COVID-19 disease, according to the minister.
Meanwhile, the country recorded 29 new cases of COVID-19. This means that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country is 5 104. The cases came from 198 results that were received yesterday. Manzini Region had the highest number of cases as it recorded 13, followed by Lubombo with eight while Shiselweni and Hhohho regions had four cases each. From the confirmed cases, six were asymptomatic, 22 presented with mild symptoms while one presented with a moderate case.
There was one new COVID-19 case in the age bracket of zero to nine while the eldest was one in the 60 to 69 years group. There were 145 new recoveries yesterday, bringing the total to 4 374. This means current active cases are 629 while deaths are 101.
