MANZINI - The coroner’s report has revealed that Christelle Rudolph’s body had some bruises.

Christelle was the ex-wife to well-known businessman Johan Rudolph.

She died at the age of 45 and was found dead in her rented apartment at Malkerns Square last Sunday morning.

The police had initially recorded her demise as a sudden death, but there were suspicions of foul play and as a result, (they) are still investigating the matter.  This new information was revealed by Christelle’s family friend, who got the postmortem report after it was issued by the coroner yesterday afternoon.

Report

However, the family friend was quick to mention that the report stated that according to the doctor, the bruises might not be the cause of death because they were not fatal.

Thereafter, she said in the report, the coroner highlighted that blood and tissue samples would be taken for further investigation.

On the same note, Christelle’s ex-husband said the update he got regarding the coroner’s report was that the bruises that were found on her body were minor and it was likely that they were caused by someone else.

“There is no foul play. She normally had some minor bruises. If someone falls or bumps onto something, he/she will have bruises,” he said.

Again, the businessman also mentioned that the report was incomplete as blood and tissue samples were still to be tested.

Information gathered by this publication from sources close to the matter, was that following the strange circumstances surrounding Christella’s demise, the police had opened an investigation.

Today, her friends and family members will attend a memorial service at Dups Funeral Home, where they will celebrate her life. The memorial service will start at 2pm.

Notice

On the other hand, the deceased’s ex-husband’s family had also issued a death notice, where they notified those who were close to her that she had been promoted to Glory last Sunday.

They said the devastated family was grieving the unexpected loss of a wife, mother, sister and daughter.

“To honour her memory, the Rudolph family will hold a private memorial service, in keeping with Christelle’s expressed preferences,” reads part of the notice.

However, the date and venue of the private memorial service were not mentioned in the notice.

Meanwhile, Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati said the police were still investigating the death of the woman.

It is worth mentioning that when Christelle was found dead in her flat, the police had initially recorded her demise as a sudden death.
