EBUHLENI — Her Majesty the Indlovukazi has done it yet again.
On Saturday during the annual Buganu Festival she unveiled a new project that would bring millions of Emalangeni to the country.

The Indlovukazi launched three projects with the main one being the farming of Rose Geranium, a plant that has oil and healing properties which treats wounds and is often used in making perfumes for soaps and detergents.
The other projects include the farming of special garlic and mushrooms.  Making the presentation of the Rose Geranium the Indlovukazi said the project had been under study for a while to see if it would be suitable for Swaziland.

The Indlovukazi referred to the plant in vernacular as ‘imbali’ (flower) which would not only change the lives of members of lutsango but for the rest of the Swazi nation that was willing to partake in the project.
Derek Braithwaite a South African national and investor in this project has been given a factory in Matsapha where the oil from the plant would be distilled according to Minister of Agriculture Clement Dlamini.
The Indlovukazi displayed the plant leaves to those gathered and told Lutsango that they would be given reading material on what the plant was all about.

She said this had been a project that government had been working on and this would create jobs.
A few years ago the Indlovukazi introduced the Swazi Secrets project where the marula fruit is used to make cosmetic products. It has a factory in Mpaka.

Her Majesty further said last year the government sent officers to Thailand where they learnt about farming mushrooms. She said this had a huge market internationally and government would soon embark on a process of teaching the nation and Lutsango how to identify the right mushrooms for export.
The Indlovukazi added that a special garlic and pepper project was also in the pipeline and urged women to learn about the products before they left.

In due course she said government would embark on an exercise to educate the various communities on the many projects.
“I am launching these things to inform you with the necessary investors present so that we can always know who to blame should these not take off, but I have full confidence that these will be a success as a lot of study has gone into this,” she said.

: PREPAID WATER METERS
Do you think prepaid water meters will serve EWSC clients better than the current billing system?
