MBABANE – Minister of Education and Training Lady Mabuza insists that all schools should open today as per her announcement last week.

This comes after there were reports that about 16 schools had reported that they would not open under the current political situation in the country. In the past weeks, a lot of schools countrywide have been affected as pupils engaged in protests. Some of those schools have been torched. Mabuza wondered what would be the plan for those schools that would remain closed because examinations would come and would be mandatory for all schools. She said all schools should be preparing for the exams that would be held next year.

Mabuza urged those pupils who often allowed people from outside to deceive them and incite them to riot to stop it. She said the pupils should remember that those people who incited them, completed school and some had their own certificates. The minister said pupils who allowed themselves to be used by external forces would regret as they would leave school without education. She said the country could not afford to have an illiterate generation.
