WE ARE SAFE - BACEDE
MBABANE - Despite circulating reports that they were assaulted and tortured in prison, MP Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza yesterday told their supporters that they were well taken care of by officers from His Majesty’s Correctional Services.
Mabuza, who was in a jovial mood, was about to leave the courtroom after their matter was postponed, when he told their supporters that; “Laba (warders) sihlala nabo 24/7 basiphetse kahle kakhulu. Siphetfwe kahle ngi safe kakhulu. He said this after the supporters who were standing next to the accused dock, asked them “niphatseke njani lejele.” When addressing the followers, the MP said he was happy to see his wives who were among those who had come to give them moral support.
Love
He also declared his undying love for them. He also shouted amandla and further assured them that they would fight until the end. It has been previously reported that the two MPs were purportedly assaulted and tortured by His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS) personnel on Thursday night. HMCS Public Relations Officer (PRO) Senior Superintendent Gugulethu Dlamini, was previously quoted as having vehemently denied that the two MPs were assaulted. Instead, she said what transpired last Thursday was a random search aimed at ensuring that there were no illicit items in possession of offenders. This, she said, followed that there were cellphones that had been found in possession of inmates before.
