APOSTLE SEEKS COUNSELLING AFTER VIEWING SHARON’S BODY

MBABANE - Apostle Jethro Malindzisa had to undergo psychotherapy after viewing the body of murdered NERCHA Manager, Sharon Neves.

He said this during the funeral services of Sharon held at her home at Mpolonjeni in Mbabane yesterday morning. Malindzisa was Sharon’s spiritual father and pastor. She was discovered dead inside her flat at Nkhanini Township/Phola in Nhlangano last Wednesday morning. Preliminary findings suggested that she was assaulted with a heavy metal/ blunt object and there were visible injuries on various parts of her body. She was discovered in a pool of blood wearing a night dress. The apostle said when he went to view and identify Sharon’s body, what he saw was unbearable such that he failed to even sleep at night.

“The first night I could not sleep after viewing Sharon’s body as she looked completely different from the way I knew her.” He said the picture that remained on his mind was completely something else. According to Malindzisa, he had to see a psychotherapist as he could not accept that it was Sharon who was killed in such a cruel manner. He further prayed for all those who had the last image of Sharon to receive counselling as the picture was traumatising. “One then asks him or herself what kind of person can be vicious in such a manner, especially who had previously declared love to her,” he said. He said the same hands that passionately held someone were the ones that squashed her life. The apostle stated that what came into his mind was that people had turned into animals and that people feared each other due to the fact that the world had become a cruel place. It should be noted that the man who stands accused of Sharon’s murder, Zwelibandzi Simelane, is currently behind bars and is yet to stand trial.

Malindzisa said Sharon did not deserve to die in such a manner, stating that it would have been even better to know that she was involved in an accident. He urged people to speak out against GBV. Speaking on behalf of the family, Peter Frank Neves comforted all those who were touched by the passing of Sharon. He said Sharon was dedicated in her job and assisted a lot of people. Frank said Sharon made it known to them whenever there were family gatherings that she did not want her relatives to grieve after her passing but they should celebrate her life.

NERCHA Director Khanya Mabuza said Sharon had been recommended as a team player by most of her colleagues, including himself. Mabuza said they had a great time with her.
He said he worked with Sharon for 21 years and there was no point in time where he called her for disciplinary hearing. The director said when he called Sharon, it was that he wanted advice from her.
