PRINCESS LUNGILE STALLS VICTOR BOOK LAUNCH
MBABANE – Following the misgivings that Princess Lungile has about the book about her husband, the late astute businessman Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze, she has stalled its launch and publication.
The book, which was written by Sports Journalist Lwazi Dlamini, was initially scheduled for official launch on June 4, but the event was postponed to July 2. However, the late businessman’s wife has put the entire book launch on hold, after having misgivings about its content and the manner in which the entire initiative was handled. The book is titled ‘Victor this, Victor That…The Eswatini soccer mogul who refuses to die.’ Yesterday, the princess convened a press conference where she announced the stalling of the book launch. The press conference was attended by the author and Sergent Investments Managing Director (MD), Dumezweni Dlamini. Sergent Investments is one of the businesses owned by the princess.
The princess said one of the reasons which led to the stalling of the launch was that her family was not entirely involved in the compilation of the content of the book.
She stated that the book would come out at the right time, which she said it would be in God’s timing. She quoted a verse in the Bible in the book of Ecclesiastes 3:11 which says; ‘He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. He has made everything beautiful in its time.’ The press conference and the announcement came after a series of meetings between Dlamini (author), the princess and her legal representative. It was gathered from an impeccable source that during the meetings, the princess allegedly raised concerns about some of the content in the book.
According to the insider, one concern that was purportedly raised by the princess was that there were no agreements between the parties prior to the publishing and/or launching of the book.
When reached for comment, Princess Lungile’s Attorney, Mlungisi Khumalo, said he was overseas for two weeks and referred further questions to the former. Khumalo said upon his return, the matter was brought to his attention, but insisted that the person who was in a better position to comment on the issue was the princess, as she was the one who raised concerns and had misgivings about the book.
