ACCOMMODATION IS A CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT – LAWYER

MBABANE – Human Rights Lawyer Sipho Gumede says there is a need for a case study in cases where POCA application infringes on children’s rights.

He said as much as the law was passed by Parliament, there was a need to challenge its application so that the judge could pronounce a judgment on the POCA application against the rights of children. “Accommodation is a right enshrined in the Constitution of the country, so the court will have to pronounce a judgment on an application of the law that renders children homeless. That will only happen if the application of the law is challenged,” Gumede said.
