GOSPEL ARTIST ZAGA GETS 2YRS FOR CHURCH BREAK-IN
SITEKI – Inkunzimalanga hitmaker Zaga Nkosingiphile Dlamini (39) of Malindza was yesterday slapped with two years imprisonment with an option of a fine of E2 000, relating to his conviction of theft.
Half the sentence was suspended. Dlamini made an appearance at the Siteki Magistrates Court, charged with theft. The All Nations Christian Church in Zion member and gospel artist committed the offence on April 28, 2023 at Mahlabatsini in the Lubombo Region, where he stole a variety of items valued at E1 600. He appeared before Magistrate Machawe Bhembe. The items included a black chair worth E1 000, a black wooden table valued at E250 and a greyish carpet valued at E350. He elected to conduct his own defense when his right to legal representation was explained to him. He further pleaded guilty as charged and the Crown submitted to the court that the accused had no previous record of convictions. The artist in mitigation, asked the court to be lenient when passing the sentence as he had made a mistake and he had children to support. He also told the court that he was remorseful for what he did.
