MATSIENG, LESOTHO: His Majesty King Letsie III yesterday received gifts ‘fit for a king’ from His Majesty King Mswati III.

The gifts were presented to the Basotho Monarch at the Matsieng Royal Palace, which is situated about an hour’s drive from the centre of the capital city, Maseru. The gifts, which were in honour of King Letsie’s 60th birthday, included a set of living room chairs, accompanied by other household and personal items. The King of Lesotho appreciated the gifts and thanked His Majesty for the wonderful gesture.

Friendship

He said the friendship between the two countries was alive and urged that it continued to grow in leaps and bounds towards binding the two nations together for the benefit of the people of the two kingdoms. He also said the gifts were cementing the relationship between the two royal families. He added that, as leaders of the two nations, they had a responsibility to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, King Sobhuza II and King Moshoeshoe II, who founded these relations. Present during the presentation of gifts were Queen Mohato and their prince and princesses. Emazinyane were also there to witness the brief occasion.
