HIS TIME WAS UP – GOVT SPOKESPERSON

MBABANE -   Following the grabbing of the microphone from one of the speakers during the People’s Parliament, government has come out to assure the nation that the exercise remains open.

In a statement, Government Spokesperson, Alpheous Nxumalo described the incident where the microphone was grabbed from Sibusiso Dlamini, while making his submissions, as unfortunate. “Government wishes to assure the nation that the only reason the microphone was grabbed from Dlamini was because the time allocated to him had elapsed  and had nothing to do with the contents of his submission,” reads part of the statement.

In the statement, the government’s spokesperson stated that the nation would note that a number of emaSwati were also looking forward to getting their chance to make submissions, hence the reason why minimal time was allocated to each speaker. Through the statement, government assured the nation that Sibaya remained open to every liSwati and interested individuals, including the international community, as per His Majesty’s proclamation during its opening. “Therefore, all views presented at Sibaya remain valid and worthy consideration,” said Nxumalo. He concluded his statement by encouraging emaSwati to continue flocking to Sibaya to express their honest and genuine feelings about all issues affecting the country.
