SUSPECTED CATTLE RUSTLER MURDER SEVEN COMMUNITY POLICE, RELATIVE AMONG SUSPECTS
MANZINI – The eight suspects who were arrested in connection with the murder of a man, whom they believed was a cattle rustler, include seven community police and a relative to the deceased.
The suspects are Mbokodvo Hlatshwako (57) (community police), Themba Maseko (50), Ngcovungcovu Nkambule (63) (community police), Sikhumbuzo Sukati (60) (community police) and Sicelo Dlamini (43) (community police). The above suspects are all from Nsenga. The others are Bheki Ginindza (48) of Sankolweni (community police), Khulekani Vilakati (46) of Nsenga (deceased relative) and Sibusiso Nhleko (42) of Sigombeni (community police).
They were charged with murder on the night of Monday November 20, 2023, while they were at Sankolweni, in the Manzini Region, they allegedly killed one Lucas Ndoda Vilakati, by assaulting him with sticks, baton, slasher and palm of a bush knife several times all over his body and further shot him with a 12 bore shot gun once on his right thigh. According to the charge sheet, this resulted to the death of Vilakati, thus the accused persons were charged with murder.
The accused persons appeared at Manzini Magistrates Court yesterday and they were remanded in custody until Wednesday November 29, 2023 pending their committal to the High Court.
