EARLY PAY FOR CIVIL SERVANTS, DOUBLE FOR SENATORS
MBABANE - Civil servants will smile all the way to the bank on Friday this week, as they will receive their salaries.
This was confirmed by the Ministry of Finance Communications Officer, Setsabile Dlamini. Civil servants are usually paid from the 20th to the 23rd of every month. Dlamini said civil servants should expect their salaries on Friday, December 15. This is meant to allow them to shop early for the festive season.
The National Public Service and Allied Workers Union (NAPSAWU) President, Bawinile Ndlovu, appreciated government for thinking about the welfare of employees. Ndlovu said getting their salaries early meant that they could do their shopping early, in order to reduce congestions in towns. She stated that civil servants would get all their needed essentials, so that they can allow other employees from different sectors, to make their shopping.
Adding, Ndlovu warned civil servants about effective spending, saying that as much as they needed to celebrate the festive season, they should spend within their means. She stated that there was no need to waste money, paid because they still had other responsibilities in January. “Reality is that there is nothing much to celebrate during Christmas. They should celebrate within their means and further celebrate the day through worshipping God.”
