MSINDA – One of the victims of the fatal accident at Mpisi Farm was on her way home from collecting a posting letter from the Teaching Service Commission (TSC).

This was confirmed by family members of the deceased Sebenele Zwane (36) of Msinda. Zwane was reportedly a contract teacher at Bulembu and had recently been informed of an extension of her contract. Meanwhile, the driver of the BMW sedan was Mbabane Highlanders Logistics Manager Sifiso Mnisi. Although his family could not be reached at the time of compiling this report, Mbabane Highlanders Public Relations Officer Kenneth Dlamini confirmed the news of Mnisi’s death. He was also the director of Young Professionals and former Horro director.

The tragic accident occurred when the BMW sedan collided head-on with a Mercedes horse and trailer truck on Wednesday at around 6:30pm. The police confirmed that the BMW was driven by a 42-year-old man of Mvembili, whom this publication later confirmed to be Mnisi. The police also revealed that Mnisi was attempting to overtake when the accident happened.

Injuries

Meanwhile, the driver of the Isiphiwo Transport truck, who is 47 years old, reportedly suffered injuries on the head and his two passengers complained of chest pains, as well as a sprained ankle. Both Mnisi and Zwane were certified dead at Raleigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) Hospital in Manzini, according to the police report. Both vehicles were extensively damaged on the front. A visit to the Zwane homestead at Msinda found the deceased’s mother and aunt sitting on a mattress. The family members said they could not divulge on what caused the accident, save for the fact that they received the sad news of their daughter’s passing in an accident that occurred along the Mpisi Farm Road.

“We can only confirm that our child had gone to fetch her letter of confirmation after her contract was renewed. She was a teacher at Bulembu,” one of the family members revealed.
As further questions were posed regarding the death of their daughter, one family member mentioned that they did not wish to proceed with the interview as they wanted to grieve the loss of their daughter privately. The family member said they were still coming to terms with the devastating loss of their daughter. They also did not wish to share pictures of their deceased daughter when they were requested to. While the family of the deceased Mbabane Highlanders Logistics Manager could not be reached for comment, more tributes for the deceased came in from people in the sports fraternity and on social media.
