NGABEZWENI - God does not want defectors (emahlubuka).”

This was said by His Majesty King Mswati III when bidding farewell to church leaders, who participated in the Easter Services held at Lobamba over the weekend. The church leaders bade farewell to the King at Ngabezweni Royal Residence yesterday. The King urged the clergymen and the entire emaSwati to adopt the character of Simon Peter, who wanted to be closer to Jesus at all times. The King said even though Simon Peter was put to the test, resulting in him denying having been with Jesus, in fear of his life during crucifixion, it came a time when he maintained his loyalty. “Simon Peter was bold enough to tell those who were looking after all those who were with Jesus that he was the one whom they were looking for. As a nation, we need to be like Simon Peter. We should overcome the test and remain loyal to Jesus because God does not want failures,” the King said.

The head of State warned that shifting from the gospel of truth was tantamount to inviting curses to the country. The King urged the nation not to annoy God by their evil deeds, but make Him proud with their good works. ‘‘Nkulunkulu akabafuni bonhliziyombi, nguloyo naloyo akatitjele nje kutsi angete asala uma siya Ezulwini,” he said, meaning God does not want evil-hearted people. Each and every liSwati must take it upon themselves that they will not be left out when others go to Heaven,” he said. The King added that no one would be touched by anything if they accepted Jesus as the saviour of their life. Also the King blessed those who were appointed successors of deceased church leaders. He said it was pleasing that they were appointed and introduced in broad daylight. This, the King meant, all those present would be witnesses should challenges arise. The King also received tetfulo in form of cattle, goats, chickens fruits and vegetables and fruit trees from the church leaders and members of the public.
