ESABELWENI - Prayers and blessings are now open for every interested individual at Esabelweni Temple, at Bethany.

This comes after the official opening of the Nazareth Baptist Church meeting yesterday. The meeting, which is the gathering of the church, was officially opened by His Holiness Unyazi Lwezulu, who is the current leader of the church founded by Isaiah Shembe in 1910. Unyazi Lwezulu is considered the African Messiah with meaningful prayer and blessings, by members of the church.

Extended

However, the belief has extended to people from outside the church, as they engage Unyazi Lwezulu for prayer and blessings both locally and in South Africa. The opening of the meeting started with a prayer at the entrance of the church.  Elders of the church shared that the prayer was aimed at welcoming ancestors to be with them during the course of the two-week event.
The members of the church then marched to the temple in a song titled ‘mdedele angene, siyinzalo yaMswati na Somhlolo.’ They continued to sing until they were joined by Unyazi Lwezulu, who ordered them to pray. He then blessed the members of the church, marking the official opening of the meeting.

The elders of the church then announced the official opening of the meeting. They stated that the opening of the meeting meant that the members of the church should devote themselves to God, as He was about to do His work among them and the people of Eswatini. They reminded men and women to be in their respective camps at 7:30pm. “Men should leave women and be in their respective camps at 7:30pm. The same applies to women. We do not want any negative report to Unyazi Lwezulu, as he does his work that he was sent to do by the heavens,” said the elder. “Asiwafuni emacala, dedelani unkulunkulu enze umsebenzi wakhe,” added the elder.

On another note, Chairperson of the organising committee Makhehleni Derrick Dlamini said the opening of the meeting meant that people were welcome for prayers and blessings at church. Dlamini reminded those interested in the prayers and blessings to dress appropriately. By dressing appropriately, Dlamini meant women were expected to cover their heads. He said pants were strictly prohibited in the church. He added that those who were pressed for time should organise themselves and make arrangements with the elders for prayers. Worth noting is that many people prefer petroleum jelly (popularly known as Vaseline), Sunlight bar soap and pure water to be prayed for by Unyazi Lwezulu, in order to make breakthrough in their lives.  Some are satisfied by the word of mouth ‘God bless you (Inkosi inibusise)’.
