MBABANE – The Zwide Street was turned blue as the Embiveni Biggest Braai activation hit the capital city yesterday.

The activation was hosted at the Embiveni Meat Plaza and attracted a big crowd which was not only entertained throughout the day, but some went home smiling as they won a variety of prizes after participating in different competitions. The Embiveni Biggest Braai is set to take place on July 20, 2024 at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre and will offer attendees with not just a day of culinary experiences but there will also be performances and activities that will make it a family event. Yesterday’s exciting competitions and thrilling prizes dished out became a clear sign that this year’s event will be one for the books.

Song and dance

From as early as 10am, the street was already buzzing with the Embiveni team already welcoming members of the public in song and dance. Led by Embiveni Meat Industries Ambassador and award-winning poet Msandi Kababa, the team spent the better part of the day entertaining the crowd while talented spinner DJ Zulu D dished out the best of music. Customers entering the meat market were encouraged to purchase products worth E200, pop a balloon after which they became eligible to win meat packs. It was not a surprise that the activation attracted a big crowd as free transport was made available from the Mbabane Bus Rank to the meat plaza.

Meanwhile, the organisers of the Embiveni Biggest Prize 2024 have assured that there will be lots of activities on big day and these will include a medical outreach and lunch for all the elderly people around Manzini municipality at Millennium Park, where one of their sponsors, Village Baker, will donate bread to be used to feed the about 800 elderly people coming for the free medical outreach arranged by Embiveni Biggest Braai and the Municipal Council of Manzini.

The organisers have also called for stall applications for individuals and companies that would love to be part of the event to visit the Philani Maswati website. There are three places where the stalls will be found during the event and these are the main arena, the kids’ zone, and the parking lot space.  A Kids Zone will also offer food and games as this is a family event.
