KING CALLS FOR CREATION OF MORE JOBS
MATSAPHA - In light of the several emaSwati who have approached the King with hopes to get employment, His Majesty has expressed hope that companies will address the issue of unemployment.
During his tour of Power Pack Africa yesterday, His Majesty King Mswati III stressed the importance of job creation as a solution to the high rate of unemployment in the country. He commended the establishment of Power Pack, highlighting that the company specialises in the manufacturing of plastic bottles. The King brought to attention that another extension of the company is in the pipeline, which would specialise in manufacturing boxes.
Advancement
“This is an indication of expansion of jobs and the advancement of technology, which has been evident within the company premises. “During my tour of companies recently, I have noted how several emaSwati have been approaching me with hopes of seeking jobs. “It is evident that there are more who are unemployed out there, especially post the coronavirus pandemic,” he said. He revealed that there were 60 employees in the company, further stating his hope that the employees would be increased, bringing employment for emaSwati who are also across borders.Meanwhile, he highlighted that during his visit to Taiwan, he met the Wang family, who owns the manufacturing company. He stated that they informed him of their plans to invest in the kingdom. He revealed that this was their first investment project in the country.
Appreciation
The King reiterated his appreciation for the use of technological advancement in the company and hoped that it would be utilised effectively in the creation of jobs. He said he hoped that this would even benefit emaSwati studying in Taiwan, who would return and find job opportunities in the kingdom.
