MAN (53) HELD FOR FLASHING MANHOOD TO MINORS
PIGG’S PEAK – A 53-year-old man found himself on the wrong side of the law, for allegedly flashing his manhood to minor girls.
The man was arrested by the Pigg’s Peak’s Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) domestic violence and child protection unit. This was after an intensive investigation, which emanated from concerns about the man who is alleged to have shown a group of girls his manhood, while also asking them to touch it. The girls’ ages are said to have been around 11 and 12 years old. The real names of the girls will not be mentioned to protect their dignity as minors.
Mandla Mangundumela Dlamini was arrested in connection with the offences and charged with sexual harassment under the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence (SODV) Act 15 of 2018. He was arrested last Thursday around noon. Dlamini was slapped with six counts under the Act. The alleged offences are said to have occurred on July 13, 2024.
The offences are said to have been committed on the same day, according to information available from court documents.
Allegations
The veracity of the allegations are yet to be tested in court. It is alleged that the accused person had some corn snacks, which he is said to have offered the girls. This is said to have happened in one of the townships around the Pigg’s Peak area. The accused is said to have then produced his manhood in full view of the minors, who, after offering them some snacks, asked them to touch his private parts. Assuming it was only a game, some of the minors are said to have played along and touched Dlamini’s manhood. It is alleged that the accused then, after flashing his manhood is said to have asked some of the minors to have sexual intercourse with him.
Some of the girls are said to have been afraid that they would fall pregnant, but the accused is alleged to have assured them that they would not. However, they eventually did not engage in any sexual intercourse but the matter was reported to the police. At the time of reporting the matter to the police, there had been concerns around the community where the incident occurred, that sex work in the area had contributed to the downgrading of morals in the community.
Complainants
Some of the relatives to the complainants had accused sex workers, who are a common scene in the area for contributing to the situation, adding that they often engaged in sexual intercourse with their clients even with their children present, as many lived in single-room apartments. A concern was raised that children often witnessed the exchange of sex for money and that some ended up emulating this at a very young age. Mangundumela appeared before the Pigg’s Peak Principal Magistrate Siphosini Dlamini. He was granted bail of E10 000 but he had not paid for his freedom at the time of compiling this report.
