KING OPENS 3 COMPANIES WITH 900 HIRED
MATSAPHA - His Majesty King Mswati III officially opened three companies, which have hired about 900 employees.
One of the three companies plays a key role in the country’s goal of achieving food security. The King opened Elangeni Chicks at Nokwane and Elangeni Poultry at the Matsapha Industrial Site, before opening Logico in the industrial town. Elangeni Chicks and Elangeni Poultry are under the Elangeni Food Group. At Elangeni Chicks, the King said he was pleased to learn that the company had employed about 300 emaSwati and processed about 35 000 chickens (broilers) per day.
Touring
He said as he was touring the company, management assured him that they were working on finding more markets, which if they found, they would expand and create more employment opportunities for emaSwati. “We need to have such companies in all the four regions of the country, so that we can achieve our goal of food security as a country,” the King said.
After that, when touring Logico, a distribution company, which is based at Matsapha Industrial Site, the King was informed that the company has stock worth about E150 million.
According to Logico Supply Chain General Manager Simanga Dlamini, the company has employed over 600 people and operates over 60 trucks. He said they bought items from producers in Eswatini and South Africa and supplied retailers, including wholesalers. The King said more jobs could be created if the company could expand and produce some of the things they bought from South Africa. On another note, His Majesty commended the workers from the three companies for their efforts and commitment, which they displayed when carrying out their duties. He said they should take care of their jobs, because there are so many emaSwati who are unemployed.
He also encouraged them to take care of each other, including management. “I am also pleased to learn that most of the staff members are young, which means that the youth is getting employed,” the King said.
