MBABANE – The price of Unleaded Petrol, Diesel 50ppm S and Illuminating Paraffin will decrease by E1 per litre on Thursday midnight.

The announcement was made by the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy, Lindiwe Mbingo, yesterday. “The new fuel prices shall come into effect at midnight, Thursday, September 5, 2024 (effective Friday, September 6, 2024).  “In the month of August, 2024, the brent crude oil traded at an average of US$80 a barrel compared to an average of US$85 a barrel realised in July, 2024.

“The Lilangeni/Dollar exchange rate appreciated and averaged at E18.15 in August, 2024 compared to the E18.22 realised in July, 2024.” She said this situation led to Unleaded Petrol, Diesel 50ppm S and Illuminating Paraffin recording an over-recovery/profit.

The new fuel prices will therefore be as follows:
The Unleaded Petrol (ULP 95) price will decrease by E1/litre from E21.60 to E20.60/litre;
The Diesel (0.005% S) price will decrease by E1/litre from E22.40/litre to E21.40/litre;
The Illuminating paraffin price will decrease by E1/litre from E16.75/litre to E15.75/litre.
